Called the 'Turkish Steps' or 'Stair of the Turks' or Scala dei Turchi, this is a lime-rich rocky cliff formation on Sicily's Southwestern coast. Sandwiched between 2 sandy beaches, it is accessed by climbing the staircase-like rock formation (leading to its name).
While beautiful at any time of the day, it is simply stunning at sunset.
At Realmonte, we stayed at the B&B Un Tuffo Scala dei Turchi. While a fairly simple B&B property (most properties in Realmonte are), it was clean, comfortable and with small touches and attention to detail that made us feel taken care of. The breakfast was also well done.
